Diabetic Neuropathy is a type of nerve neuropathy that occurs from having diabetes mellitus. Having high levels of glucose in your body can affect a person’s body, including nerve function. This specific neuropathy usually begins in the legs and feet giving individual symptoms of numbness or weakness at the feet.

Causes
This condition develops due to lack of insulin and abnormal metabolism affecting nerves and blood vessels. These uncontrolled glucose levels interfere with the signals to the nerves correctly leading to diabetic neuropathy.

Signs and Symptoms
An individual can experience an array of symptoms with this condition. One may experience numbness in the feet, tingling or burning sensations of the legs and feet, cramping, muscle weakness, imbalance and sharp pains in the legs and feet areas. The symptom may also present as a hot object burning under you feet.

Diagnosis
